libwww-shorten-perl software package provides interface to URL shortening sites, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libwww-shorten-perl
libwww-shorten-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libwww-shorten-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libwww-shorten-perl *
You will get with libwww-shorten-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
